Getting Started
This is my first blog that I have set-up. I am excited to see how it goes! I am now in the last month of the school year. We will finally be finishing our state testing next week. I sometimes wonder how hard the students try on the tests. For one, they know they aren't getting graded. Also, they have so many different tests these last couple of months, that they get tired of them.

I too have just started this for our course. At my school the students have been tested a total 58 days out of the 180 days of school that they are required to be in. We had to give the ISTEP standardized test last week for the second time. It is hard to believe that these kids can take any of this seriously because of all the testing they have done this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your thoughts on computerized standardized testing? Do you think students would take it more or less serious if it is given in computerized form over the paper and pencil method?
That is a good question that my colleagues and I have discussed. We take the MCA test with paper and pencil, and we take the MAP test on the computer. I really do not know what students think about that. I know that some of them like being on the computer more. I think about the chances of mistakes happening too. Are the students more likely going to make a mistake on one type over another?
